We can change the way we farm through small-scale farming using methods like Permaculture.
In the US, a big box store is built every week, and that means more development. Development leads to loss of topsoil and soil erosion. To control erosion and stop the energy used to move soil that’s lost from the development, farmers are adding silicon to the soil. This silicates the soil, making it hard like concrete. This is killing the earth and even more reasons why we need a revolution in agriculture.
We can better our future if we work together and implant new technologies in farming
When we look around the world, the problems in our food system are pretty glaring. From high-profile outbreaks of foodborne illness to the troubling disparity between consumer demand and supply of local, organic food products, it seems that large-scale industrial farming has created a world of issues.
