The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth Key Points

Question Your Current State

You need to ask yourself a few questions before you start working towards becoming a better version of yourself. The first question should be about your well-being and happiness. Do you feel happy at this point in your life? Do you feel fulfilled and look forward to your day when you wake up? If the answer to these questions is no, then you need to narrow it down to what it is that is making you unhappy. Is it your job, a relationship, or your health?

Evaluate and Plan

When you have your answer you have to remind yourself when was the last time you felt happy while doing something relevant to that area of your life.  For example, if you are unhappy with your job. When was the last time you felt fulfilled while working? What were you doing specifically at that moment? If it was not related to your current job and was something else, it is time for you to say bye to this one. Now that you know the previous moments that have made you happier, you need to find a goal that revolves around those moments.

For example, writing used to bring me great joy but with time I lost touch with it and got busier with life. Now that I have remembered how it made me feel, I can set goals to write daily and learn in order to improve this skill of mine. Excellence is not a state or an achievement but it is a habit. When we choose to do everything with our heart and full potential on daily basis, we are choosing excellence. You need to be conscious of the patterns you follow daily so that you can detect any unhealthy habits.

Set the Right Intention and Have Patience

One thing that is harder than pinpointing and narrowing down our goals is showing up every day. By staying committed to your goals even when you don’t want to, you can achieve greater things. A part of self-growth is realizing that working on one’s self never stops. You cannot take days off or expect the work to be done one day. It is about getting up every morning and making better choices and you will have to do it every day if you want to improve your life.

Take advice from the words of Becky Sauerbrunn who considers showing up the real challenge: “Success doesn’t motivate me as much as integrity does. Everyone loses. I enjoy the pressure of showing up every single day, being focused, putting forth my best effort, getting the best out of my teammates, and enjoying the journey.” Remember that staying consistent always pays off.

Learn to Cheer Yourself

You cannot naturally share all of your achievements with everyone. During your day, you accomplish a lot, and when you are on the journey of improving yourself every step counts and should be cherished. So learn to take a moment, stop and pat yourself on your back. In the same way, when things get rough you need to become your own source of motivation and encouragement. Nobody has gone through what you went through. You know the hard work you put in and the way you preserve it. So learn to value your struggles.

Listen to how you talk to yourself. Eradicate your mistakes while loving who you are. Without love and compassion for yourself, your journey towards Self-growth will be meaningless because it won’t bring you joy.
