New rich claim their Power

What differentiates you and me from the new rich; is us giving up our control. We spend time, energy, and effort on our jobs. As a result, there is not much time left for us to enjoy our lives. Not much time and freedom to invest in something else.

On the other hand, the New rich have recognized the power they surrender when they conform to a 9-5. To live life to the fullest, find time for your hobbies, and form healthy and meaningful relationships you need freedom and more time.

By joining the 4-Hour Workweek and the culture of the new rich, you will find time for all these aspects of your life you have been ignoring.

DEAL Everything

The formula that Tim Ferriss describes is called the DEAL formula. It will teach you how to redefine, reset and organize.

Define everything and get Clarity

As the term suggests, you need to redefine things. Defining things in your life helps you in achieving them. It makes things clear and realistic. The two main things that you need to redefine are your perspectives on wealth and happiness.

Wealth does not equate to having ’10 million dollars in the bank. Wealth is about having freedom. Having the freedom to go on a vacation whenever you want, having the freedom to carry on your hobbies even in the middle of the day, and having the freedom to provide comfort to your family.

You do not need money just for the sake of owning it. You need money so that you can be free to do and choose whatever you want.

Similarly, owning a Tesla, a Porsche truck and the latest channel bag will not make you happy for a longer time. According to Tim Ferriss, the opposite of Happiness is boredom. So excitement should be equal to happiness.

You get excited when you spend money doing the things that you want to do. Whether they are your hobbies or other recreational activities. When you have the freedom to spend time on the things that you want, then you will be truly happy.

Eliminate Your Distractions

Elimination is the next step. You would have probably figured it out as we cannot reduce a forty-hour work week to a four-hour work week without elimination.

Time spent does not equate to performance. Why? Have you ever noticed that at your office people are mostly fidgeting around, taking hours to do the simplest tasks, reorganizing their emails, and taking long breaks?

The reason is that they just want to appear busy. Appearing busy is the yardstick for measuring efficiency in most offices. If you personally want to grow at not waste your time doing such things you will have to take a look at your to-do list again.

Eliminate tasks that do not bring efficiency or happiness to your life. Ask yourself: will I be happy if I finish this task by the end of the day? If that specific task is not adding meaning or taking off the burden it has the potential to be eliminated.

Automate and Save Time

The next step is Automation. You want to have the freedom to spend your time as you want to. So why waste time doing things that can be automatically done? You can take care of your utility bills, emails, and transactions online and that too through systems.

Auto-generated answers can be used for answering emails. Similarly digitalizing your bills will save you from giving your time and energy to one another thing on your to-do list.
